Thomas Hackett, ADBC Commander ADBC Commander, 1971-1972 Thomas Hackett was born March 29, 1911. Thomas Hackett was a member of the 60th Coast Artillery on Corregidor when the Japanese attacked. He was In Bilibid. He spent three and a half years as a prisoner of war. He married Jeanne, and had three sons. He died December 17, 1994. and is interred at Forest Lawn in Enka ,NC. This is the synopsis of his award for the Distinguished Cross Medal: The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Thomas A. Hackett, Captain (Field Artillery), U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Company M, 60th Coast Artillery, in action against enemy forces on 5 and 6 May 1942, at Corregidor, Philippine Islands. Captain Hackett's intrepid actions, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
